Thursday & Friday  -  August 14th &15th

We headed east from WaKeeney into a stiff sidewind and I was glad to have the sway-control hooked up. We went through Kansas City at mid-day and St. Louis at night so traffic wasn't too bad. Nashville was the worst at 9:30 am.

In any case, we arrived safe and sound and find our living room now to be of adequate size .... (yes our house seems enormous) :-)

Total Trip Length - 8,265 miles
Number of States - 17
Average Fuel Economy - 14.3 mpg
Total Time - 6 weeks

Last images from the camera .....

Please feel free to check the Travels with Yoly You Tube Channel in 3 or 4 weeks as I'll start editing trip video and getting them up on the channel.

Tuesday  -  August 13th

Having left the beautiful and majestic Rockies and starting a more eastward path home, we find ourselves at a nice quiet KOA in WaKeeney, Kansas (yes, that's how it's spelled). We'll take our time and still continue short driving days in order to spend more time relaxing (see below).

We're still on track for this weekend's arrival home (Sunday) and yes it will be good to be back home again :-)

Monday  -  August 11th

Rocky Mountain National Park

Today we cruised the towering peaks and vistas of the scenic Rocky Mountains. When we crested the summit, the road elevation was 12,183 feet !  We got some awesome GoPro footage and video as well .... When we got back to our campsite, we found the vacant site across from ours to be occupied by a mother moose and her two young'ens ....... Film at 11 :-)

Noooooo !  Don't take my picture now  !!!!

Yes .... I'm a Marmot

Saturday  -  August 9th

Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum

I guess we're in the land of Dinosaurs :-)
Tomorrow we'll be in Rocky Mountain National Park

Saturday  -  August 9th

Dinosaur National Monument

We stayed at a nice RV Park in town (Fossil Valley RV) that actually has functional internet ... this has allowed me to get caught up with the blog. The entire length of the main street in Vernal is decorated with beautiful flowers and goes on for miles.

Yoly loves her Miso Soup

Our little spot
The Green River
Downtown Vernal

Most of the time at the Quarry in the Monument was spent with the Vixia video camera so I don't have many photos.

Thursday  -  August 7th

Grand Tetons National Park

We arrived mid-afternoon with rain threatening skies, but still managed to get some good video. That evening, the thunderstorms hit and I caught a bit of that also. Then, in the morning, it was beautiful sunshine so we cruised back through the park including the Jenny Lake scenic loop and got some awesome GoPro footage.

This brings us up to date relatively speaking. Several days have been left out due to having shot mostly video. We'll be at Dinosauer National Monument today and then on to Rocky Mountain National Park so stay tuned.

Wednesday - August 6th

Craters of the Moon National Monument

We had rain off and on all day so lighting wasn't the greatest. This giant lava field fills a 60 mile long valley. The closest town (where we stayed) Arco has one unique distinction.
